What comes to your mind when you hear someone say "trust issues"? "Oh, it's that disorder thingy that people in relationships and marriages have." Well, true. Sort of. But I like to think that not only people that are in relationships can experience this. Absolutely everyone can. I have. Or, still.
When somebody you trust a lot lies to you, that could spark trust issues. And once you have it, it is incredibly uncomfortable. You always have this haunting trauma feeling whenever you interact with people. Whenever they assure you of something or simply give a statement that they will do something or promise you they'll keep your secret, it feels heavy to trust. A lot heavier than normal. It's torturing in some ways if i have to say so myself. Because not everyone has intentions to do bad things to you and not being able to trust those genuinely good people is just not right.
I haven't found a solution myself to this problem. Sometimes it simply fades away through time. But it's not always like that. And when it's not like that, it is seriously depressing to think of.
Have you ever had trust issues? I'd love to hear about it.
