I Still Have No Idea What is My Mother Tongue...

This post is gonna involve the word "Australia" a lot. So for my fellow Indonesians out there not liking that, feel free to navigate away from this post. Vielen dank (I learnt a little German recently. Long story.)

Anyway, so as you all might or might not know, I lived in Australia for more or less 6 years since I was 1-2 years old or so up until I was 7 (I guess). Before I went to Australia, I believe I've already known Bahasa Indonesia. Probably barely, but yea, whatever.
So when since me and my family moved to Australia I guess I picked up English quite quickly. And I got into the culture, the habits, the mindset, etcetera.
Long story short, me and my family eventually had to go back to Indonesia. When I got back to Indonesia, I literally forgot Bahasa Indonesia. And it took me like at least 3 months to remember the basics (or maybe re-learn it). What I'm tryin' to say is that there is this period of time where English was actually my only language.
And because of that, right now I feel like English is my actual mother tongue. I understand things better in English, I become a more open person when I speak in English, I don't know it's just weird. I was hoping to find somebody with at least some similarities. Cause I just think it's just a little unusual if your mother tongue is not your first language. So is it possible. No idea. At all.

It's a relatively short post but being able to post this on a very busy week is quite satisfying for me. Anyway, see ya.

Speech Script: Being an Introvert

Hey, Guys. I thought I'll share another speech script today. I used this script when I was competing in a competition held by a Senior High in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Area. I got 1st in that competition so I think this one is pretty good. And I also wanna say that in this speech script I slipped in a little personal story of mine. So it's gonna be a little hard if you're going to copy it haha... So here you go. I’ve always felt that I’m different compared to most people. At least compared to most students in my school. On break time, they like to gather in groups and gossip about someone or chat about the current trends. I prefer not to. If I necessarily have to get involved in a group chat outside my class, I always try not to do the unnecessary. Not to talk too much. Some people say that I’m shy and weird. Some even say I’m arrogant and antisocial. The truth is, I’m an “introvert”. So ladies and gentlemen, the honourable judges, and my fellow competitors, this morn...

Do you take notes in class?

Hi! It's been a hell of a long time, hasn't it? But here I am, finally back again. You know those people who make Blogs, writes on them, until they finally get either tired or bored or busy and their Blog gets deserted like the most quiet part of the Sahara? Well the first time I decided to make this Blog I was determined to not become that type of person. Anyway, I'm not really into a deep, philosophical talking right now. I'm in a more of a trivial mood if there even is such a thing. And in having this mood, a question just hatched at the top of my head. Do you take notes in class? I mean seriously. Do you take notes when you're studying or do you make notes of what your teacher writes on tho front board? Because I do. But I never revisit my notes. I have a number of friends that like to take notes of everything that has been either spoken or written in class. Some of them even go to extensive methods when it comes to note-taking e.g. buying expensive statione...

Fear & The National Finals

Fear. That thrilling sensation triggered by your brain that goes down your spine and from there, it swarms every centimetre cubic and square of your flesh and skin. That unsettling feeling translated into a consistently rapid heartbeat. It's one of those set of letters that you definitely don't want engraved in your mind. It's that thing that you don't want infecting your thoughts and ideas. It is the very embodiment of "not good". And those words above are probably an exaggeration. But let's be honest, some of it is definitely true and worth nodding your head towards. Whilst I am writing this blog, I am feeling fear. It has little to do with the blogpost itself. But it has everything to do with the Junior High School's national finals that is to be conducted on Monday, nationwide throughout the whole Indonesian archipelago. And you might wonder, what's so frightening about an exam? I mean, towards a certain extent, and to some people, it is sl...
