What Kind of Music Defines You?

Since I was like 10 years old up until now there's probably no day in my life where I haven't listened to music. I think I'm the kind of guy who likes all sorts of music. From classic, acoustic, rock, to EDM, pop, rap, whatever. If I think it's good I'll listen to those stuff. But that's not what I want to talk about in this post. I want to answer a question. What kind of music defines me?

That is one of the hardest questions of life, man. I mean, seriously. How am I suppose to pick one kind when I like to listen to like all of them? Well you know what I'll try to answer it anyway so let's see how it goes.

First of all, to me, music is a media to tell stories. Music is a way of sharing. So with that being said, I think I'll definitely rule out EDM. I only like EDM because it gives you the fun and the hype and the sort of "togetherness" when you're amongst your friends jumping to it. But it's kinda hard to tell stories with it. I mean there are a lot of EDM songs that have lyrics on them but it doesn't really hit you as hard as other kinds of music. So yeah, EDM definitely does not define me.

Enough blabbering. Let's just get to it. I think the music that defines me the most is rock. But not like the heavymetal rock stuff. I hate it to be frank. I guess I'm more like the alternative, British rock kinda guy. Okay, so why do I love rock? Because it's awesome. Why do I think it's awesome? Maybe it's because I grew up listening to rock. Bands like Paramore, Simple Plan, Muse, 30SecondstoMars, they're definitely on my list. Oh yeah and there's this really cool Japanese-English rock band that I only started to listen recently (and I regret that). It's called OneOKRock and be sure to check them out.

High School: Initial Thoughts

I haven't been blogging for like 2 months. And I apologise for that (even though I'm not quite sure whether I have any loyal readers out there). But anyway, let me update you about my current situation. So I graduated from middle school or junior high school or whatever (which is a good thing) and I graduated with relatively great grades (which is a very good). I then applied for the best high school in Yogyakarta (in terms of passing grade) and I eventually made it. I am incredibly grateful for that series of very fortunate events. But I can't help but feel a bit nervous and scared of what's to come. Now I don't know how big of a fish I am. Finals Story

So around this week, every single junior high school in Indonesia are having their finals. Although not at the exact same time, but yeah. In my school, the finals will be held from last Friday to next Thursday with an exception of Sunday because it's obviously a holiday (Saturday's not a holiday in Indonesia. Sad. I know). Anyway because there's only going to be one exam subject for tomorrow when every other day except for tomorrow's got two and tomorrow's subject happens to be English, I thought that instead of properly studying I'd write a blogpost tonight. So I guess I'll tell you what has been happening since the first day of finals. So at the first day, the subjects were Bahasa Indonesia and Islamic Studies.
